Opening and official launch

We had our “soft” opening on October 8th and our Official Launch on November 13th 2008. It was even more than we could have dreamed. Before the opening we hosted the monthly meeting of SWABA (Southwest Area Breastfeeding Advocates) from 12noon – 1pm in the Baby Café, and just because of the buzz surrounding the opening, it was the biggest SWABA meeting ever. Then, before 1 p.m. (we were due to open at 1:30) women started coming. And they just kept coming. Strollers, car seats, husbands, grandmas, it was wonderful! We had 22 people recorded on our sign in sheet. And there were lots more if you count the children. There were breastfeeding mothers there for the entire two hours, most talking to one another, but several needing expert help.
